When did you start keto?
I began the keto diet in late 2017, taking a break in late 2018.
Do you count calories?
I think initially it is important to set up a macro plan including how many calories you should be eating. Then you can decipher the number of grams you’ll need for each macro-nutrient. I use MyFitnessPal to track all my food and macros. You can add me here.
Do you count net carbs?
Yes. I usually stay below 25 net carbs per day. Net carbs is the total carbs in an item minus fiber and sugar alcohols.
Do you exercise and do you have to on the keto diet?
I exercised throughout most of my dieting. I feel like it helped accelerate things as well as toned my body up. You certainly do NOT have to exercise to see results on the keto diet.
What about “cheat” meals?
I personally allow myself one cheat meal a week on Saturday nights when I go to play poker. It’s my one night to relax and have no responsibility. I usually have a slice of pizza because I believe in moderation.
Does your family eat keto too?
Between my boyfriend and I, we have 6 children. For the most part, the kids eat what I cook which is usually meat and veggies for dinner. Every now and then, I make lasagna or some other casserole that they love , but I try my best to use keto alternatives.
