HELLO & welcome back to my blog! This has been a rough week to say the least, but we before we dive into all of that, let’s find out what my weekly stats are!
Starting Weight: 9/6/19 – 233
Current Weight: 10/18/19 – 223.8
That’s a gain of 0.8 lbs from last week. Together, that’s a total loss of 9.2 lbs!
Crazy enough, this is my FIRST gain while attempting the keto diet again. I’m not too terribly surprised.
What happened this week?
This week, I got sick for the first time this season. Head cold, nasal drip, migraine – you name it, I had it. The result of that – I ended up eating a lot less than I normally do.
I also had a rough week at work losing four of my patients. Working in hospice isn’t for the faint of heart, and I tell you – it can eat me alive sometimes. This week it did.
How do you handle all that stress?
Candidly, that’s another blog post in the works. However, to perform some good holistic self-care, I returned to basics. I took a bubble bath several times this week and took a few more naps than normal. I also made a fantastic Egg Drop Soup that was the focus of this weeks’ recipe.
What’s the big announcement?
I journaled a lot more this week which leads me into my last act of self-care – PODCASTS! Oh, how I’m falling in love. So much so, that I’ve decided to start my very own podcast that will launch January 2020! And, I couldn’t be more excited.
I actually like blogging. However, in the short time I’ve been doing this, I’ve discovered that I want my blog to focus on more recipes and free content (i.e. printables). And, I want my podcast to serve as an accountability platform.
It’s been amazing having someone that’s got my back and understands my struggles as I navigate these keto waters. I want to be able to stand for someone else going through the same thing & I feel like the content I would share with you all is better served over audio.
Below is a small list of podcasts I’ve started listening to that have sparked this inspiration in me. I hope you find them just as inspiring in whatever goals you want to achieve because let’s face it – everybody could use a friend!
- The Chalene Show & Build Your Tribe (with Chalene Johnson) – Chalene has built an empire around health and wellness and just listening to her voice is completely motivating and could get you to believe you can do anything!
- The Hustle Sanely Podcast (with Jess Massey) – I remember when Jess started out as a blogger years ago and she’s developed into quite the courageous and ambitious young woman that is truly inspiring to those that want a more productive life.
- The RISE Podcast (with Rachel Hollis) – if you haven’t heard of Rachel Hollis and the RISE brand, you’re living under a rock. The author, speaker and now business conference leader is a smart & savvy business women you don’t want to miss. **Her & her husband, Dave also run the RISE Together podcast focusing on relationships!
- The KETO DIET Podcast (with Leanne Vogel) – lastly this is a keto blog, so naturally I had to include the one & only Leanne Vogel. Founder of the Keto Diet blog, Leanne focuses on science & research behind why the ketogenic diet works.
Thanks for checking in with me this week. I have a few things in the work for next week’s check in and I look forward to seeing you all then!
