I love sweet tea, Alabama football and everything KETO! After being overweight most of my life, I chose to start the ketogenic diet in late 2017. This is my story!
I’ll be honest – this is SCARY! Putting myself out on the Internet for everyone to judge. It’s like asking for trouble; but, then again, it wouldn’t be called KETO MISS FIT, if I wasn’t afraid of some trouble!
What is Keto Miss Fit anyway?
Long story short, it’s a chronicle of my journey on the ketogenic diet. In 2017, I was in the middle of a separation, so I decided to lose some weight. I chose a low-carb program and exercised 3-5 times a week. After one year, I lost 90 lbs!
It was the first time in my life I had control over my eating. Fast forward to September 2019 – I had a change in jobs, lost my mom to cancer, got divorced and got a new boyfriend (together we had 6 kids). Consequently, I regained about 40 lbs of what I originally lost.
MOST of this is because of my lack of exercise. I have not been in the gym since early 2018. First of all… you do not have to exercise while on the keto diet, however it certainly accelerates your efforts. Most importantly, I do enjoy exercise once I get into it.
What can you learn here?
I started this blog as a space to hold myself accountable and share my experience with others. I’m very introverted and an avid writer, so blogging seemed the next logical thing for me and my experience. I am dedicated to helping other men and women achieve their health and wellness goals.
With KMF, I share my love for the keto lifestyle as well as products I use, tips and tricks, my weekly check ins and lots of recipes! Most of my recipes are inspired from Pinterest, so rest assured, if it’s on the blog, it’s GOOD! I don’t count them, but calories are expensive, so I only spend mine on the best.
I spend most of my free time with friends and family; playing poker, traveling and enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy blogging, perusing Pinterest and knocking things off my bucket list!
What advice can I give?
Be patient; trust and enjoy the process. Do not be afraid of what people will think of you. Get out there and take control of your life. Surround yourself with like-minded people. If they’re not bringing you up, they’re bringing you down! It has taken me a long time, but I’ve learned to love myself! You will too.
